  • The rumble has started. The Rally is fast approaching. Remember to watch for bikes and be extra cautious. Remember these five rules during the next couple of weeks. 1) Follow the 4-second rule - Cushion about 4 seconds between you and the bike. 2) Respect Mother Nature - Remember bikes are even more susceptible to inclement weather. Give even more cushion time. 3) Look before you turn - A large percentage of motorcycle fatalities happen when a car is trying to turn left while a bike is going straight. Make eye contact with the rider. Turn signals are hard to see or often forgotten. 4) Check your blind spots often-Smaller objects do a great job at hiding in blind spots. Swivel your head to check your blind spots regularly and, in particular, before changing lanes. 5) Take a deep breath - Cut other drivers and riders a little slack and remember that we all make mistakes.
