Participate: S.T.A.R. (Spearfish Trails and Recreation)

STAR (Spearfish Trails And Recreation) is a task force of interested community members who have been working since 2004 to improve outdoor recreation opportunities in the Spearfish area for residents and visitors. They are currently working on approval for a trail that would officially link four existing "single track" biking and hiking trails in the Black Hills National Forest, as well as extend the north end of the linkage into the City of Spearfish connecting with the City bike path and the south end of the linkage into the Mickelson Trail. Additionally, they have identified three other potential hiking and biking trail projects and a snowmobile trailhead project for future consideration.
